Smilu — Because Talking Helps
A world under pressure
Mental health is a crucial part of personal wellbeing and social engagement — yet increasing pressures in daily life, work, and digital spaces are taking a toll. According to the Swiss National Health Report 2025 (https://www.gesundheitsbericht2025.ch/chapter/d), one in five working adults experiences significant stress or emotional strain, and up to 40% of people in Switzerland will encounter a depressive episode at some point in their lives.
While most report a good quality of life, emotional exhaustion, loneliness, and anxiety are on the rise — especially among young people and those facing economic or social challenges. The report also highlights the importance of social support, open dialogue, and accessible early help in enhancing resilience and recovery.
The Smilu app was created in this context — as a modern, stigma-free way to start conversations, reflect, and strengthen emotional balance in everyday life. Because talking helps.
Not just for mental health — for everyday life
Smilu is not only designed for those facing psychological stress. It is a companion for everyone — someone to talk to about everyday experiences, the good and the bad. Whether you’ve achieved something meaningful, feel uncertain about a work decision, or want to reflect after a long day, Smilu listens.
Conversations don’t need to be about problems to be meaningful. They can be about joy, gratitude, ideas, or simply the thoughts you don’t want to lose in silence.
Talking and being heard help people organize their thinking, process experiences, and maintain emotional balance.
